It’s Time To Grow A Pair

NetWorking-Tips written on clipboard with candles on desk

For some reason, network marketing can become such a mind game.

I don’t know why honestly, but people seem to think, overthink, then think some more.  It can be especially hard if you are one of those people who are super emotional and/or lean towards dramatic.

Yep, I said it.

Being dramatic does nothing to serve you.

If I could shake the drama out of you, I would totally grab you by the arms and go to town. Just kidding, but really I would really recommend you learn to think like a dude.

Let me just run a scenario by you.

This time I will use my husband, who is totally a chill dude. Unless of course I push him over the edge which is not unheard of.  Haha!

You see he is a custom home builder and we live in a community where just about everyone is as well. In other words, there is competition for him.

Often times he meets with a potential client who is also meeting with other contractors.  When he meets with clients, he lays out what he has to offer and his price.

Sometimes he gets the contract and sometimes he doesn’t.

Is he bummed when they go with someone else?  Sure, but what he doesn’t do is come home and swirl in his mind for days, weeks, or even months if he should be in custom home building business at all.

Does he ever question if he is a good contractor.  No.

He is thinking, could I have done something different in my meeting with them?  If yes, he changes it for his next potential client.  And if no, he thinks they just connected with the other guy better for some reason.

And then he is done and goes on with his life.

So why in the world as a network marketer do you question yourself and your profession after every single interaction that doesn’t go the way you wanted it to?

Oh my gosh, I swear if one more person calls me and says, “I just don’t know if this business is right for me?” After every “no thank you” they get, I am going to lose it!

It’s time to grow a pair and just do business.

Sometimes things will go your way and sometimes they won’t.

Can you get better at your presentation?  Of course!  But it takes practice and doing it over and over.  So even if they say no, you are getting more experience under your belt.

I think I’m pretty good at recommending what I have, but guess what.  People still say no.

In fact, they say no often.

Does that mean I am no good?  Nope, I’m pretty awesome at what I do!

Does that mean your products are no good?  Hell no!  I mean look at you.  You look and feel great and they would do it if they weren’t so damn stubborn and would give them a chance.

Does it mean the business is no good.  Um…NO!  I mean really.  You see all the success and the lifestyles of successful network marketers all around you.

The person you are talking to just isn’t open minded enough to step outside the box.

Again, nothing to do with you.

So here is what I’m trying to tell you.

You love your products or you wouldn’t be with your company and so do millions of others.

You love the lifestyle this type of business allows people to have and so do millions of others.

You are a killer consultant and mentor and people will be blessed to lock arms with you.

So don’t second guess yourself.

You are just a visionary who sees things way before the masses do.

Be proud of that!

And every time you get all up in your head and get all emotional, remember to THINK LIKE A DUDE!

I would love to hear your thoughts in COMMENTS.
